2.4mm Nozzle BLTouch Spacer Installation

2.4mm Nozzle BLTouch Spacer Installation

In this document we will install the essential 2.4mm nozzle spacer. This spacer can be used without interfering with the operation of the standard nozzle.

Removing the BLTouch

Using a 2mm hex key, undo the two bolts securing the BLTouch unit, while still keeping them in the BLTouch bracket.

Installing the Spacer

Drop the spacer onto the two bolts.

Reinstalling the BLTouch

Move the BLTouch back into position and secure the bolts.

Changing the Nozzle

Switching the nozzle is a breeze! The most important thing to remember is that the bits you will be working with are HOT HOT HOT! Within the “Change Filament” menu, preheat and remove the filament from the tool.

Next, use a scouring pad to remove any major gunk from the nozzle.

After that, use the included torque tool to remove the nozzle. CAREFULLY deposit the nozzle on a heat resistant surface to let it cool. (I usually just let it sit on the metal build plate)

Now use the torque tool to ever so carefully install the nozzle. Sometimes the nozzle sits too deep in the wrench to catch the heater block threads. In this case, CAREFULLY start the nozzle in with your fingers. Be quick! that nozzle is going to get hot fast!

Before you get to cranking, be sure it isn’t cross threaded. Tool heads are expensive. Once you get it started, run it down to the block. Tighten until the tool “clicks”

CONGRADULATIONS! The 2.4 nozzle is installed. You will be making sockets at the speed of light.
