Filament Tracking through FabOne

Filament Tracking Through FabOne

Navigate to FabOne Printer Control, and scroll to the bottom of your page to find Filament Tracking. This is used to easily track how much filament is left on each roll, without having to weigh it each time.

After selecting “Add a new Filament,” the “Filament ID” is what will appear in the “1.A” or “2.B” space; name it whatever you would like! We recommend writing the same name on the roll filament roll.

After adding the name and marking it on the roll, select the type of filament from TPU, CPX or PETG, and the starting filament weight will automatically populate with the proper weight.

You can also manually change the weight by editing the spool amount, allowing you to add your already-used rolls.

If adding a used roll, weigh the roll. Then, subtract the spool weight to receive the real weight of filament. Click “Spool Weights” to see how much your spool weights.

If a print fails in the middle of printing, the spool weight will not accurately adjust. Weigh the spool manually to correctly edit the weight.

After a roll has reached 0 grams, it won't automatically delete itself, requiring you to remove the roll of filament from the list yourself. The amount of filament actually used can differ between 0.01-5.00 grams in either direction, meaning the estimate may not be 100% accurate.

Plan for a variation between 2-3 grams per print. If you printed 4 prints, you should estimate an 8-12 gram offset in either direction.
