Printing with CPX
This page describes the general workflow when working with Copoly filament such as CPX. Click on any of the linked pages to get detailed step-by-step guide.
When swapping to the Copoly Printing bed, you may need to raise the Z-Offset by 0.40mm to compensate for the thicker bed. Be sure to note your original Z-Offset before you change it.
Prep Copoly Plate with BuildTak Bond
Check that two silver tabs of the Copoly plate are in the back
Apply BuildTak Bond on cold Copoly plate.
Heat bed to 50C and let dry.
The layer of BulidTak Bond will last several prints before having to be cleaned and reapplied.
Load Filament
Cut the end of the filament at a steep angle (~45 degrees) above any ridges.
Thread the filament through the guide tube towards the top of the tool head. Insert the spool onto the filament holder so the cut end goes towards the back of the cabinet.
Next thread the filament through the guide tube. The guide tube must be threaded between the top two black black bar as shown in the picture.
Select Change Filament on the main screen and heat the nozzle up to 250°C
NOTE: You may need to select the Toolhead Icon at the top left to change the temperature higher
Caution! Nozzle will be hot.
Insert the Filament into the top of the Toolhead, then pull the green lever towards you 2 clicks
Click Load under the Load/Extrude (on the right side) to start extruding filament.
Let it extrude about 4-6 inches of clean filament to make sure it is a nice continuous flow.
Click Load again to stop extruding filament.
Secure the guide tube by pushing it into place.
Clean the nozzle with the maroon scrubbing pad.
Caution! Nozzle will be hot.
You have successfully loaded CPX and you are ready to start your next print! A job well done! Remember to lower the Z-Offset if you change from the CPX Bed
