Z-Motor - Grub Screw Troubleshooting Steps

Before we begin, prepare the following:

  • 3mm Hex Key

A Hex Key Set can be found within the Green Pouch inside of the kiosk.

Troubleshooting the Grub Screws

  1. Turn the printer off

  1. Using the 3mm hex key, remove the Hex Screw on the top right of the printer as seen in the video.

  1. After undoing the hex screw, set it to the side where you can find it. The bed is magnetic, feel free to attach it there.

  1. Using the Belt, carefully attempt to rotate the motor as shown in the video. The Right side of the Belt will pull upwards. The Left Side of the Belt shouldn't move upwards at all.

You will want to slowly apply more pulling force to rotate the belt as shown in the video to prevent damaging the motor.

  1. Let the Protosthetics team know if you notice the rotation has a little resistance, any skipping, or if the belt moves freely in both directions.

Please take a video if you can! We understand taking a video inside the kiosk while following these steps can be difficult with only one person.

  1. After letting the Protosthetics team know your findings, reattach the silver part that was removed in step 2.

Please read the above instructions before watching the video
